Mashburn Dads, Granddads, Uncles, are you looking for a great volunteering opportunity but never knew where to start? Well, WatchDOG Dads is a national volunteer program started by dads, for dads.
At Mashburn we only ask for one day out of the school year to volunteer. You will be provided with a WatchDOG Dad t-shirt and an all day schedule. If you would like to you’ll also be able to eat lunch with your student, or students. Your schedule will include when and where to go and what class you’ll be with. You’ll be in each grade for about an hour and activities may include playing a game with the students or do flash cards. We don’t ask you to teach the class, but you may get really lucky and they might have recess at that time and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a kickball game.
We’ve included the link for WatchDOG Dads, http://www.fathers.com/watchdogs/, in the event you would like more information. The website is a great resource to answer any questions you might have about what WDD is all about.
A great page on the site is the FAQ page.
We hope that you'll consider becoming a WatchDOG Dad during the upcoming 2015-16 school year.
